I Love...

My all time favorite game ever is  Final Fantasy 9.  When we first got our big screen tv, it was the first game I wanted to play on it.  I love the opening movie and the ending credits.  It was beautifully made and the music score to the game is awesome.  There will never be a game that tops this one in my book and no matter how old it gets I still love it.

I have a lot of memories playing this game, the hours of leveling up to get your characters stronger and trying to tape the movies with the VCR so I could watch them later.  Ha ha, I was such a dork.

I’ve played this game a million times and will still choose to play it over some of the newer ones.  I love the storyline and Zidane and Garnet have been my favorite video game couple ever.

I cried at the end when Garnet thinks Zidane is dead.  She’s watching her favorite play and Zidane is playing the lead role (undercover).  In the play his character is waiting for his love to come and run away with him but she never comes so he says, “Grant me my only wish!”  Then he pulls off his cape and reveals himself to Garnet and says, “Bring my beloved Dagger (Garnet’s nickname) to me!”  Then she runs to him.  Aww…I love that scene.

I posted a link to the ending so you can watch it.  It starts out showing her reaction to seeing him reveal himself at the play and then when they’re reunited he tells her how he sang her song to find his way back to her.

I love the ending song and hearing it always makes me smile.  Even though it’s an older game, if you ever have the chance to play it, either on emulator or PS1/PS2 do it!  It’s my favorite love story and I know you’ll like it too
